Constipation is correlated with depression (and people with IBS [irritable bowel syndrome] have a comorbidity of anxiety and depression). There is an absurd amount of anecdotal evidence that all digestive issues go away on a meat-only diet. And there is a ridiculous amount of evidence where people on a high-fiber, vegan diet have quit due to extreme digestive issues (most common complaint: painful bloating), which raises the question: why do we need an indigestible substance to keep our gut healthy? In a study of 63 patients with constipation, Dr. Paul Mason found that the people he put on a diet that contained no fiber were the only ones who reduced their digestive issues to zero [fast-forward in the video below to 7:45]. They no longer had any constipation, strain opening, bloating, anal bleeding, or pain.
