A healthy body needs plenty of salt. Why? Because salt, as much as it has been demonized, is THE KEY ELECTROLYTE: the body starts to rapidly shut down without it. For example: without salt, your muscles will cease to contract.

But don't get your salt already added into your food. Why? Because manufacturers use the cheapest salt available, which means that it's that fine, dry white stuff that's had the micronutrients heated and bleached right out of it.
